About Amanda

Amanda started working in special education as an instructional assistant in a self-contained autism class in 2009. After two years as an instructional assistant, Amanda decided it was time to pursue her master’s in special education and began teaching in a self-contained setting. Over the last decade, Amanda has worked in both the self-contained and inclusion settings with students of all abilities in grades kindergarten through 12th.

Amanda resides in a small rural town 70 miles west of Washington, DC with her husband, two young sons, and two dogs. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys photography, practicing yoga, hiking, kayaking, and hanging out with her family.
