About Melinda

Melinda VanClapdurp (She goes by Melinda or V, as that is so much easier than trying to wrangle that last name) is so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the iLead Family! The independent, family-oriented, goal-driven, and flexibility of iLead Exploration is a driving force behind Melinda’s educational philosophy.

Born and raised in central Virginia, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wingate University and her masters in multi-categorical special education from West Virginia University. She has taught every age from 0 – 27 over the years but has a soft spot for those middle school ages.

When she isn’t teaching, Melinda has four children and they spend lots of their time at the pool, as two swim competitively, or on the lacrosse field, as they all play and she coaches. As active as her children keep her, it equals Melinda’s love of art and when she finds a free moment, she tries to draw, paint or share her love of art with anyone or you’ll find her hiding at a beach reading.
