About Mikayla

Mikayla is very excited to be an education specialist at iLEAD Exploration and is thrilled to be a part of the iLEAD family! Mikayla was born and raised in Virginia where she also studied and obtained a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education at Liberty University. She is hoping to attain a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. She has worked as a special education teacher in the brick and mortar setting in Virginia with 6th-8th grade students in addition to teaching English 6 in the general education online setting. She loves working with families to provide their learners with a personalized and effective approach to learning while meeting their individual needs. Mikayla loves the freedom and flexibility that iLEAD’s program allows for families to meet each learner where they are at.

In her free time, Mikayla enjoys spending time with her husband, Parker, dancing, reading, and traveling. Mikayla enjoys teaching dance to learners of all ages and enjoys traveling to teach learners and perform around the world. Parker, her husband, is an airline pilot and Mikayla enjoys exploring new places and cultures with him as much as she can!
