Field Trip to Underwood Farms
November 18 was a beautiful, sunny day for iLEAD Exploration’s field trip to Underwood Farms in Simi Valley. Learners were treated to an amazing talk by a lively farmer who taught them all about fruits and vegetables and how they grow. Next, they took a bumpy tractor ride out to the fields where they all picked bags of fresh vegetables: lettuce, celery, cilantro, turnips and kale! Everyone picked their own bag and left with enough salad fixings for the week! A delicious and nutritious time was had by all!
